( 0 0 1 ) » WAKE UP

Were you asleep or were you unconscious? It doesn't matter: when you come to, there's an odd taste in your mouth and there's a low-level mechanical hum in the air. Your head hurts and you feel nauseous. You aren't anywhere you know: everything around you is metal, from the floor you lie on all the way to the ceiling. You are dressed in a jumpsuit you definitely weren't wearing before.

"We tried to save the world. I think— I think we did the opposite."

The message repeats on a loop. If you look for its source, you find a comms device on the floor next to you. The logo on its wallpaper says REVERIE TERMINAL. Upon closer inspection, you find the same logo on your jumpsuit.

Welcome to your new home. What choice do you have but to explore your surroundings?

( 0 0 1 . 1 ) » WAKE UP WHERE?

When you wake up, you find that you're not alone. But more importantly, you find that you're in a closet. An empty closet, bar you and your new companion. It's small, cramped, and there is no door that you can see. The ceiling is low, there is barely any lights, only some coming from the tiny flashlight clipped to your suit's shoulder. You cannot be sure that there is any air coming in to the room.

Are these grooves in the wall supposed to mean something?

( 0 0 2 ) » OBSERVATION DECK

There were no windows in the corridor you woke up in and no windows in any of the crew quarters you might have checked for occupants — but there are plenty of windows on the uppermost level of the station, deck 1. In fact, there are windows from floor to ceiling all along the circumference of the station's circular deck, and it's possible to walk along it all. What it shows is a strange solar system you've never seen before and a planet that might resemble one you know, but certainly isn't the same.

You're in space. You don't know where you are. Neither does anyone else.

On deck 3, you find the bar. Tucked away from the crew quarters, it's dimly lit, there are bar stools thrown down on the floor and what looks like some very old drink spills, crusty and dark against the bar top. But there is alcohol here, or at least, what you think is alcohol, in bottles with faded labels, most of them indecipherable. Take a drink, get drunk, start a fight, or start a party? You're stuck on this station, might as well make the most of it, right?

One second, you are is walking. Magnetic boots are on, the ground feels solid enough, for a metal deck in a space station. Everything is perfectly fine, or at least as fine as it can be, given that you still don't know where you are or how you came to be here.

The next moment, it's like everything explodes around you. You're thrown against the wall as sparks erupts from electrical panels, as the whole station rumbles and shakes around you. You fall to the deck, earning yourself scratches from the grating. When you look up, it's like nothing has happened. No wires hanging from open panels, no flickering lights, no more shaking. Like an earthquake in space.

Observation Deck

Lapis has been staring out the observation deck for a good long while now, trying to piece together familiar constellations that might give her a clue as to where she might be in the universe.

She can't find anything familiar. The planet below isn't Earth, and it's not Homeworld, and it's not any other colony belonging to Homeworld that she's been to. It's an unknown, and quite frankly, Lapis doesn't like it.

Maybe you're next to her when she gestures out the window at the Everything.

"Hey. You have any clue where this is supposed to be?" Brainstorming should work, right?

Settling in is hard when once more, you've been removed from everything you felt comfortable in. For the record, Lapis is trying to... Not quite make friends, more trying to gauge how exactly she should react to everyone else, and who might be a threat, considering the sorts on this ship.

For better or worse, Lapis has grabbed an unidentifiable drink in an opaque coloured bottle, and is handing it off to whoever is closest at the time. "You're drinking this kind of thing, right?"

Whether or not it is actually ingestible is a whole other question. It could, very possibly be some sort of counter polisher.

Mike hurls himself back onto his feet as quickly as he'd gone down, his arms out for reach, knees slightly bent for balance - a reflexive stance, ready and waiting for whatever was next. Explosions, shooting, an eldritch horror tearing up through the grating--

He turns slightly, casting his gaze quickly, but carefully down the corridor. His eyes narrow at the nothing that follows. Keeping his back to the wall, his lip curls - half snarl, half sneer.

"Oh, no. None of this horseshit. You wanted a piece, now come get it."

[Well, this certainly wasn't where Minato was expecting to be when he opened his eyes. Well, to be fair, he wasn't entirely sure what to have expected, if anything? Not this, anyways. Sighing, he stays laying on the ground for a little while longer, arms and legs splayed out around him, before finally sitting up. He then turns to look out the observation deck windows, face slowly contorting into confusion as he saw the unfamiliar planet down below.]

Ah. Unexpected.

[He is a very good boy who has never done a single wrong in his life, and being underaged, of course he wasn't going to partake in any of the freely available alcohol that was sitting in the bar.

...Mostly because a lot of it looked extremely suspicious and old, and he wasn't about to end up throwing up in a corner in space just because he was curious. He sits down at the bar and rests his chin against his hands, elbows propped against the table, and contemplates life.

He doesn't notice someone walking in at first, but eventually the sounds of feet against the metal floor is enough to tip him off, and he looks at you from over his shoulder. He offers the slightest wave, but doesn't move to say anything. Very welcoming, Minato.]

Spacequakes;

[Minato falls to the floor with a thud and an "oomph", immediately moving to cover his head to protect himself from any falling debris. He stays solidly still until he's sure the quakes have stopped, and looks up slowly from his position on the floor with quite the look of confusion once he realizes everything looked completely normal, despite the fact he was very sure what he experienced had been real.

Ugh. He hated when people messed with his head.

If you're nearby, he'll look over at you with an obvious nonverbal "what just happened?" look, brushing himself off from his fall to the floor.]

[Oh no... he's seen this before. He can almost tell when it's about to happen now, like a weird aura in the air, the humid feeling of a storm as it's about to pass, the chill of walking past a graveyard. Ryuji has enough sense, usually, to turn tail and start heading far, far away from the affected area. One of two things almost always happens: get hit, or get hit really hard and end up with more bruises and bumps than you cared to have.

And he figures people who've been here for the few weeks (?) on the station already have learned to tell the same telltale signs, so he's confused as Minato falls prey to it. He's never seen this guy before, but he feels compelled to give him a hand. He doesn't care what happens to him, but no one should have to go through this if they already know what everyone knows about this place.

It's goddamn haunted. And Ryuji goes flying, just like the times before- before picking himself up and starting over. Crazy how used to someone can get with these things.

Ryuji proffers a hand down to Minato to offer him up. There's a bandage covering a 3 inch length down the side of his cheek. Because ghost shenanigans. Or something like that.]

[ Lana's first instinct upon waking up, head fuzzy, confused, no clue where she is... Well, her first instinct is to blow shit up first and ask questions later. She begins to gather power around her hands, two glowing circles of light gathering around her fists. It's only when the light from her hands hits the form of another person that Lana realizes she's not alone in here. ]

Oh fuck. Oh, shit. [ She releases the power, figuring it's probably best not to explode a complete and total stranger. ] Are you okay?

( Curtis screams. He screams and he screams. He thinks that his voice is going to give out but he keeps screaming because there has never been pain like this. But, there's also never been satisfaction. Contentment.

This should have happened a long time ago. When Curtis closes his eyes, he waits for the pain to stop. He waits for the light to stop. Most importantly, he waits for the train to stop.

He closes his eyes. He waits.

He opens his eyes to the quiet. The train is gone. Beneath him is a floor so smooth and so clean that Curtis can't stop himself from falling to his knees and feeling it with the arm that's still intact.

His other arm is useless. A bloody mess of bone and muscle. Blood.

But, he is not dead. He is not dead. )

Hello?

( His voice is rough and scratchy from the screaming. It works though. So do his feet. Curtis moves, eyes scanning everything, everywhere. He's dead. He has to be dead. He's not dead. Maybe he was saved.

No, he's dead. There's no other option. )

( 002 OBSERVATION DECK )

( Is there anything more beautiful than what Curtis is looking at right now? The stars aren't all that bright but Curtis still has to take breaks from staring. For so long (too long, god, it had been so long), all he'd done was stare at the grimy sides of the train.

But now, stars. There were stars. There was an actual sky with stars. Stars that weren't blotted out by the harshness of winter or the necessity of the train.

Curtis raises a hand to the glass and starts connecting the stars. He doesn't want to stop looking. Ever. )

( Curtis is alive. It's taken awhile to be fully convinced of that fact but there is no way that the pain he'd just felt from being flung across the deck and into the hard wall would happen if he were dead. )

Right into the good arm. Of course. Fucking bad luck.

( Curtis levers himself to his feet, expecting to see a mess to clean up but there's nothing. The floor is still clean, the walls intact, the area undisturbed. )

You'll find Eleanor staring forlornly at however much of herself is vaguely reflected against the windows of the observation deck.

A dreary outfit for a dreary place, I suppose.

[ She's quiet for a moment, a thoughtful expression on her face. ]

All I would need is a pair of scissors, a thread, needle and perhaps some extra cloth. And maybe— though the color may be the worst affront and unfortunately there's not much that can be done about that.

[ How do you keep yourself busy in space? Sniff stuff I guess. You can find her unscrewing bottles and popping off lids, and giving the liquids inside (some she recognizes, some she doesn't) a big ol' wiff.

Most of them she cringes at when the pungent smell of liquor hits her nose, but a less familiar bottle surprises her. It smells sweet, actually?

Curiosity killed the cat and stuff but if it smells good it should taste good, right?

Wrong.

She spits it right out, sputtering it everywhere and every which way. Nasty.

Maybe it hits you? Hopefully it doesn't? Either way she's mortified. ]

[Hajime sometimes likes to spend evenings in the bar. "Evening" being a relative term, probably, but if he spends too much time in the observatory, he gets dizzy and starts to suffer from what one could call an existential crisis. Being visibly in an alien outer space can do that to a kid. It's way easier to sit where there are other people, because the background noise kind of helps keep him grounded.

He's just sitting off to one side, playing Galaga Gala Omega on his copyright-free Nantendo Game Girl Advance, when someone's spitting at him?]

O-Oi!! What was that for?!

[That's a big fat GAME OVER on his screen as he stares up at the girl who just spit at him, expression wavering somewhere between indignant outrage and shock.]

Ricki handles the kidnapping with a particular lack of grace. He comes to in a bedroom, slips out into the hallway, and makes his way along with a nearly silent step.

At the next blind corner he hears the sound of approaching footsteps, and makes an entirely unconscious decision. He steps aside, puts his back to the wall, and waits until the person has stepped past him.

It's only the fact that the person who goes by is wearing a jumpsuit like his that keeps the encounter from becoming immediately violent. Instead, he settles for slipping forwards, and asking, deliberately just a little too close for comfort;

"Baby, if this is a work event, then I want it on record that I think the bosses have really lost the plot this time."

Ricki slips into the bar his first night on board, and helps himself to a seat with the kind of view professionals like- all exits, all corners of the room, left side of his body against the wall so his dominant arm is in play if he needs it. Back to the corner is more conspicuous, but this is telling too if you know what you're looking for.

He goes to his seat with a drink in hand, a couple of thumbs of something translucent, and settles in to watch the crowd go by. To watch for the other people who are also watching.

The gym is in the same kind of disrepair as the rest of the place, but when Ricki steps into it, it feels familiar. He's exercised in dirtier, stranger places than this with much more makeshift equipment. So it needs a coat of paint- so what?

He's heard the rumours about what happens to your muscles in this kind of not-gravity. He's lived in places more cramped than this. It isn't just the desire to fiddle while Rome burns that has him attacking one of the more familiar pieces of equipment with a rag and soapy water. With the grunge soaked away, a chain reattached, and a few makeshift adjustments, in a few hours he ends up with a mostly serviceable erg machine.

Ricki opens the coveralls to the waist, and knots the sleeves there with familiar practice, cleans the grease off his hands one last time, then climbs gingerly on the equipment to see if he's succeeded in repairing himself an outlet.

He rows until he's dripping with sweat, and he feels less pent up, less brittle. He rows until he has sweat in his eyes, until he has to sit foward and put both feet on the ground, and shove the damp hair back out of his face.

His expression is flat, somehow, still deeply introspective, totally focused. It only regains animation when he realizes he's no longer alone. He affects a charming little half smile, and offers, breathlessly;

"I'll be right off it, if you're after a turn."

[ Garion's no stranger to waking up in unpleasant circumstances. This kind of headache (and queasiness) usually has something to do with a meeting of kings and the fortunate/unfortunate drinking that usually takes place afterwards. Maybe his head hurts from his own singing?

Garion is many things, but a good singer is not one of them.

But there is some noise prickling at his ears, a low level hum that's utterly unfamiliar to him. Much like this location is, as he opens his eyes and looks around at the... metal? room he appears to be in.

His first thought is to his wife, of course, and the arm that reaches out beside him is thrown with enough fearful force to nearly toss him off the bed. He recovers, but it's the first look he gets at the sleeve of the strange clothing he's wearing. The clothing with... words on it? Words that match the wall. And some sort of device on the floor?

He takes it, stuffing it into his pocket since he hardly knows what it is or what to do with it, but it bears examination.

There's a brief flash of relief (whatever has happened to him more than likely has left his wife and his children untouched) before he steels himself, gets to his feet, and starts walking. He has some exploring to do... ]

[ He's never seen the stars like this. Never imagined he would, as a matter of fact. The closest he's ever been has been when Zandramas...

Well, it wasn't exactly a pleasant mental image, for all that there'd been quite a lot of relief associated with it.

So he'll be paused there, on the observation deck, staring out into space for a few minutes. You might need to really try to get his attention. That is, if you want it. ]

[ ...he's an Alorn, all right? For all that he's also a disciple of Aldur, his parents were Alorns. He was an Alorn king. Not to mention the fact that he'd grown up around one of the greatest information procurers in the known multiverse.

That's why he ends up in the bar. Not because he intends to drink anything, but because he wants to see if he can find out more about where he is, what's going on, how he got here, and how he can get back to where he belongs. After all, not only does he have a family to take care of, he has a country to run, for goodness sake. ]

( it's a startled breath that draws into lungs as if it's something foreign, almost forgotten, and there's a dull ache between her temples as thick lashes flutter in attempts to bring herself to. lithe fingers instinctively feel about what appears to be something, somewhere, entirely too small and chilled to the touch. nails stumble over ridges that have been carved, purposely or not, into the smooth metal of the wall.

a hiss of an inhale drawn through her teeth as she attempts to situate herself a bit more upright, lids just briefly peering to find a glow coming from one side of her own chest. but there's a twin light just across that petite space from her, pulse beginning to ricochet wildly. discomfort? panic? disorientation? a nauseating hum of a mind cant seem to decide which to settle on, and there's a clearing of her throat, a swallow, caution ridden in her tone. )

001.1 Wake Up Where?

This isn't the first time Shepard has ever woken up in a strange place with vaguely ominous warnings playing on repeat. Hell, this isn't even the first time she'd woken up in a place like this without her armor. She'd have preferred to have her gun on her but, frankly, she could get by without a pistol if she had to.

The other person in the cell, well, they don't look like they are doing quite as well as she is.

"Hey," Shepard tries and the sound bounces back at her--the walls are far too close for comfort. "Hey, get up," she hazards again and, for good measure, shoves them in the side with her foot as she draws herself to standing.

"We've got problems."



003 Bar

"I guess this will do," Shepard announces as she peers into the room.

The place is thrashed, the chairs upended, cups cluttering the floor, and scattered trash everywhere. There is about an equal measure of broken glass and bent metal to unbroken--she's seen worse but not much. She strays in, boots crunching on broken tumblers, and eyes the bar itself. There are a few bottles on the shelves but none of them look expensive or worthwhile. Shepard eyes them a moment then decides to take her chances and snags one.

The top takes some trying but she forces it off and is greeted by the scent of strong, cheap alcohol. On a whim, she grabs one of the cleanest looking glasses off the floor and fills it up.

"Cheers," she says to the empty room and downs the whole of it like she'd just poured a shot.


004 Spacequakes

Low gravity arrays were the worst; she hated them in basic, hated them on post, and hated them now. Mag-boots combined with normal pressure were just asking to make a person sick, begging for it, and it was only by dint of her years of service that she could take it without flinching. Unfortunately, the sudden jarring toss of gravity and the bolt of electricity was enough to toss even Shepard on her ass.

She hit the wall with a resounding bang and, on instinct, managed to wind her arm through something and catch herself before the whole building blew apart. Seeing how explosive decompression didn't kill her a moment later, Shepard was at something of a loss. The shaking ceased and, in an instant, it was like it had never happened.

"Shit, seriously?" she seethed and glowered at the ceiling. She couldn't hear any groaning but, frankly, that didn't mean something wasn't broken. She was (quite possibly) the world's worst engineer, but that didn't really matter. If something was broken, she had to find it, it was part of the job.

WAKE UP.

It's when he's shoved onto his side that Peter jolts awake with a gasp. His head jerks around, eyes wide as they dart about erratically. When he spots the woman above him, Peter is jerking back.

And not getting very far, of course; his back thumps with the wall. He scrambles for purchase before he finally manages to his feet.

"Who--" Peter swallows hard, trying to gather his thoughts. With all of his might, he tries to keep his voice from trembling: "What is going on here?"

[ Staying still and staying in one place has always made Peter Parker a little buggy (heh), so he's taken to wandering the halls like an aimless ball of anxiety and confusion. Honestly, if he wasn't an unassuming sixteen year old kid in a jumpsuit that fits a little weirdly in some places (still waiting on that growth spurt guys, thanks), he might look a little suspicious. One might even mistake him for a security guard or something.

So, yeah. He's just minding his own business, nodding his head and offering a tight-lipped smile at anyone passing him by when -- slam! The floor is pulled out from under him and he lands - hard - on his back with a resounding groan.

Oof. That really hurt.

It's his first instinct to get back to his feet and point his wrist in the direction of the attack or intrusion, but when he opens his eyes again, he's on the deck and everything looks ......... normal? If anyone else happens to be around him when the whole station goes bonkers, Peter will immediately look in their direction, flick his eyes towards his extended wrist, and snap it back down to his side. ]

-- whoa! What the hell was that? [ quickly turns into an immediate: ] Is everybody okay? Everyone safe?

[ After hitting the wall, Gamora lands on her feet, naturally, crouched as low to the ground as it gets, hand braced so tightly against the floor that she nearly dents the metal. Nearly. From the back, it's not obvious that she's, y'know, green. The standard jumpsuit covers most of her skin, after all, but when she whips her head around to identify the source of the sound, it's unmissable. Huh. It's a surprise to see no visible damage in the immediate area and to find Peter upright. Perhaps he's Xandarian and not Terran, like everyone else on this ship.

Welcome to space, kiddo. ]

I don't know. [ A hallucination? No, she felt it just as she had last time. More evidence that the ship is shoddy? It makes her uneasy, regardless. ] We should sweep the halls. Stay with me.

He's never met another mutant who had powers similar to his. The prospect is more exciting than he would have guessed. Still, he's not seeking her out to discuss that. ]

Hera had expected her Imperial prison to be a bit roomier. The splitting headache and nausea, though, that she expected. The message on loop was different though, and the first hint that something here might not be what she thought.

Hard to tell with it being near pitch black, though. Hera managed to scoot herself to free her hands and try and get a bearing. The first thing she felt was the wall, with some sort of markings in them. The second was, very clearly, a body laying right next to her. She gave it a firm shake.

"Are you all right?"

Well, that was a whole lot of space out there. And a whole lack of ships to get Hera anywhere, specifically off this station. Staring out the viewport gave Hera nothing but a sense of hopelessness, so she turned away and sat in a nearby chair. Panic was beginning to rise in her. There was no way off, and no way to contact her team. She closed her eyes and ran her hands over them.

"You spend all your time with a couple of Jedi, you should know how to calm yourself down."

A few deep breaths, focus on relaxing her shoulders, and the feeling began to subside. When she reopened her eyes she finally noticed someone else in the room.

"Sorry, didn't see you there."

If recon and subterfuge had taught her anything in life, it was that the bar was the place for answers. Lowered inhibitions and whispered promises can make information flow. Of course, Hera wasn't entirely certain what she was going to get here, but someone had to know something. If this was the first step to get that info then she was going to do it.

Plus, she had to admit, having something to drink certainly calmed her nerves of being on this stupid station. She spied someone walk in and flashed an inviting smile so natural for her species.

"Hey there, need a drink?"

He had found a surprise in the refresher this morning which sounds like the start of a very bad story, but it was in fact an okay story. That surprise was a full set of Jedi robes and since the only other clothes he had were the same jumpsuits as everyone else, Ezra decided to try the traditional Jedi look.

So of course, it was while he was trying out that look that he spotted a familiar green figure out on the observation deck.

"Hera?"

Not even waiting for a response, he ran over and hugged her because... because he had to!

"Hera! It's so... I'm so glad to see you again. Even if it's like this... I mean, this definitely wasn't what I was expecting for our reunion, but I'll take it?"

001 ; WAKE UP
[She definitely doesn't wake up gracefully. Claire comes to with a gasp, eyes flying open as her heart races. It takes a lot to make someone with her powers be forcibly unconscious, and when her system finally kicks into gear she's forced awake with a lot of adrenaline making her react poorly.

Kidnapping is a thing she's getting used to, but that doesn't stop her from hopping up to her feet and looking around in total panic and confusion. Her hands feel at her body, taking note that her clothes have been taken and she's been put in some kind of jumpsuit. That makes her sick to her stomach, because she doesn't remember how that happened. She can handle this, it's going to be fine. She just has to get some air before she throws up everywhere.

The metal grating of the closet spaced hole she's been shoved into is kicked at until it gives in and she's able to crawl free. It's pure luck that has her coming out of a space in the wall right by someone's feet. With a gasp for air that comes out sounding like a choked sob she slams a hand down on their feet or leg of their jumpsuit. If she happens to cause them to trip and fall, well, it's not like she's going to look guilty about it. She's the one that's on her hands and knees, trying to wriggle her way free of a hole in the wall.]

002 ; OBSERVATION DECK
[After Claire manages to calm down and realizes she's not necessarily in any immediate danger, she does some exploring. She only gets as far as the observation deck before stopping for the day. Seeing space laid out so openly is a lot to take in, and it's pretty much mind blowing for a sixteen year old that's never left Texas. She's sheltered enough that she might be a little more childish than someone else her age at this stage of her space hostage situation, and doesn't have any problem pressing both her hands and face against the glass. It's almost like she wants to get closer to everything that's out beyond the glass, but in actuality she just wants to make sure she sees it all as clearly as possible. She also hasn't clearly figured out the whole gravity thing here, and leaning against glass helps make her feeling off balance a little easier.]

Is there a way outside?

[It's asked out loud, though not to anyone in particular. She's not even aware that anyone else is standing near her right now.]

004 ; SPACEQUAKES
[She's in a total daze when it first happens, everything shaking and going topsy turvy as her feet fly out from under her. Airborn, she crashes into a wall and ends up a nosebleed and busted lip. There was definitely just an explosion of some kind, and it doesn't seem like it's ending right away. Blood gushes from her nose and ruins her jumpsuit, and she ignores it as she crawls to push herself up on her feet. Sparks are flying and the floor's still shaking, but Claire makes her way over toward the other person that's nearby. She has the luxury of healing. They don't. ]

Hey, it's okay. It's only a -

[What in the hell is this? She has no idea. She also sounds like she's gurgling blood when she talks, so she reaches up to wipe at her bloody face with her forearm.]

It's just an earthquake. People survive these things all the time.

[Except they're not on earth and it's more likely they're all about to explode and die in space. Cool.]

[ as it turns out, one of the things transgenics were not designed for is a sudden absence of a significant amount of gravity, and max is having a difficult time adapting to it. the magboots are helping keep her footsteps steady and she's sort of gotten the hang of walking with them after the past few days, but she still feels off in a way she's not used to; sick in a way she's unable to shake off as easily as usual.

still, she's nothing if not adaptable, and it's just a matter of learning until she masters the ability. that's what her training had taught her, right?

except her training had never covered what to do during an earthquake in space, and the force of the sudden movement nearly sends her sprawling onto the ground. she braces her hands in front of her and lands hard on them and her knees, pain shooting through them as the floor trembles, her ears ringing with the buzz and sparks of electricity. she looks up, eyes wide and wild with fear, but as soon as she does everything comes to a sudden stop.

no sparks. no cracks in the walls, no shaking of the ground. nothing. ]

(it's not kidnapping. he isn't a child.) there isn't a cell, aren't any restraints. even as he forces himself to sit up and take a better look at his surroundings- (it's not registering. he can't piece it all together. he can't see) -all he can tell is that this isn't the carrier. this isn't home.

he moves, not entirely aware that he's doing it until long after he finds himself standing at the observation deck. the implants aren't working. or perhaps they're working on overdrive. there's both too much and not enough information for the computers to help. for him to piece together those inputs in a way that makes sense. all he knows is that he needs to get out of here. he needs to get back to the carrier. to the team.

It’s a silly pretence but Apollo enjoys it, just for the fun of being gregarious. He hasn’t tried to drink the coffee again since his conversation with Venus, not now that he remembers that bad coffee really is bad. He likes the casual, friendly chats he can find there too – chatting amiably to people while they eat, agreeing sympathetically while they complain about the food, politely listening to memories of food that they miss.

It’s while he’s there, sat at a table with Kaldur and Alex, talking about what makes a truly great lasagne, that he feels something that he hasn’t felt in four long, lonely weeks. A voice, so painfully loved that every word hits home like a hammer in his chest. A voice that isn't heard in his ears so much as felt in his heart, speaking right to the centre of him through the familiar radiotelepathy that he’d given up on being any more than white noise and empty static.

Ignoring both his coffee and his conversation, Apollo looks towards the mess hall door, eyes wide. ]

[ The word on his lips is murmured, made quiet with hope and confusion. After weeks of mental silence it almost doesn’t seem real, to feel that familiar voice in his head.

Is this another trick? Apollo will tear the station a new airlock if it is.

Well, okay. The last time she was out in space she got horribly murdered along with several of her friends, but on the bright side this doesn't appear to be the meteor. Point of fact aside from the fact that it's a space station of some sort there's basically nothing in common. Which frankly is nothing but reassuring for her.

And there's a planet down there! Which is cool, but she's not actually sure it can support life or anything and even if it could, how would they get down?

"I wonder if there's a transporter or something around here..." Staring down at the planet beneath them, Nepeta frowns in thought. If that place could harbor life, maybe it'd be worth it to try to find a way down.

Of course, first things first. She has to figure out how the place she's actually in works before she can do anything else.

Pity she's got basically no idea where to start. "I wish Sollux was here..."

Not exactly the usual reaction to being sent head-over-hindquarters by what she can best describe as the entire station being shaken by some sort of invisible giant, but anyone who actually knows Nepeta would probably expect it.

What they might not expect is for her to scrabble onto all fours once she's managed to re-orient herself, and crouch into an almost feral-looking battle pose, hissing wildly at anyone who comes too close. Careful, she might bite.

There doesn't seem to be any information that he's found yet to give him any guidance but the planet in the distance doesn't look like any he's seen before.

It looks similar enough, but there's enough there to let him know that it is not Earth and it's certainly not Mars, which begs the question where he could possibly be.

He stares out into the vastness with his arms crossed and lost in thought for the moment. The only question more pressing than where he is, is where is his crew? ]

His sensors immediately fed him information about the unexpected environment he found himself in - the ambient temperature, the dimensions of the space, and the vital signs of the person sharing the small space with him. What seemed very off were his internal clock and GPS systems.

"Please, remain calm," He said slowly and evenly like it was a prerecording, "My name is Connor. I'm sure we will be out of here in no time."

An android in shock is probably a very bad sign, but as Connor approaches the massive observation deck windows, he is most definitely in shock. The small, circular light on the right side of his temple spun yellow as his eyes darted over the multitude of stars. Inwardly, his processor was matching what he was seeing against known star charts at an incredible speed. That none were matching up was becoming increasingly worrying, especially in combination with his malfunctioning GPS.

He stepped closer to the glass, raising one hand to press his palm against it. He's close enough that his breath, if he had any, might have fogged the glass, his hand should leave prints, but neither happens.

Sure, everyone here was technically out of place but, at the bar, Connor actually looked it.

He wasn't going to order anything, but he wanted to speak to a few of his fellow shipmates, if that's what they were considering each other. So, instead of ordering a drink and keeping his head down, he'd found a seat at the bar and, after a short and fruitless conversation with the bartender, now continually scanned the room, looking hopeful that someone would come talk to him.

But no dice. Wherever he was, none of the other Walter robots were here. He was on his own, which honestly made him more uneasy than the change of clothing, or the kidnapping, or the unfamiliar expanse of space he could see outside the window. His steps were a bit heavy, the hiss of hydraulics a bit obvious in such a quiet place as he walked closer to frown at the stars beyond the heavy glass, a bit of steam slipping from the vents framing his face as he let out a low sigh.

"Sure isn't Kansas." Muttered more than anything before his attention shifted to the stranger standing nearby, green optics dimming slightly in concern. "You alright there buddy?"

[So far? Aizawa is not a fan of space at all, even a little bit. He becomes even less of a fan when he suddenly finds himself swept off his feet and slammed against a wall. The automatic impulse from such an impact is to shut one's eyes, but Aizawa forces them open if only to activate his Erasure, scanning around for anyone who might have caused this so he can put a stop to it. He doesn't find anything, of course, but if you were in the middle of using your power to try to deal with these shenanigans in some way of your own, well, sorry about that. Enjoy the temporary nullification???? At least he blinks not more than a couple seconds later, ending the effect.

( It is a truth universally acknowledged that an Xavier in want of a drink will find their way to the nearest bar. He's propped up at the counter, uncaring about the taste of whatever he's drinking. There's a headache blooming behind his eyes and hysteria threatening to spill beyond his chest, and so the only course of action is to have a bloody drink.

Every so often he pushes his hair - he has so much of it and it's so grossly seventies - out of his eyes, or sighs like the world has ended. If he drinks enough, then he'll be able to forget that he's on a fucking space station, that his oldest friend and enemy has shot his bloody sister, and that presumably his world is about to go to war. Again. )

( He's no stranger to calamity. Hell, he's lived enough of it. But when the hall seems to explode around him, Charles allows himself a second of fear. It's not that he's worrying about dying ( because what's the point ) but his legs go out from under him and the swoop in his stomach is enough.

But the floors shake and the walls spark and he may be somewhat depressed ( okay, definitely ) but he's not an absolute idiot and so he's scrambling back to his feet and there's nothing.

Nothing has happened.

Instinctively his fingers fly to his temple, straining against the chemical walls around his powers. Was that a vision? An hallucination? Is he going mad? )

[ Of all the things to find aboard this mysterious floating spacecraft, a bar. Sonya's in survival mode, so she thinks...maybe the alcohol could be used to sterilize. Doesn't know what needs sterilizing yet, but that's not the point. She creeps (as much as anyone can creep in magnetic boots) in to raid the bottle stash, softly gasping when the man at the bar addresses her.

She didn't see him. He's blending into his surroundings rather effectively, which is not to say he looks like a pile of garbage but. You know. ]

[ There's a tall, pale skinned man standing in front of the large wall of windows. His jaw hangs slack, and he fussily pulls his glasses off to wipe the lenses clean on the pocket of his jumpsuit. ]

This is, this is incredible. An alien planet. It's too far to tell if it's inhabited-- no way to know if there's intelligent life, but in any event-- an honest to goodness alien planet.

[ He seems thrilled. He chuckles to himself, turning to whoever's nearby with a smile. ] Wasn't all that long ago I watched the moon landing.

This technology is amazing. It's all decades beyond anything I've seen. I have to ask though, has anyone found a lab on this station? I'm something of an amateur chemist and I have a friend who needs some medicine which is complicated and difficult to synthesize.

[ Not an all out lie. Yes, he needs the medication which allows him to retain his human appearance, but Charles also will need the serum which allows him the use of his legs. ]

[ How distracting is this planet? How long until Hank realizes who's standing next to him? How will he react? Erik has no idea. He's hoping for a response more on the positive end of the spectrum, as much as he and Hank ever have positive reactions toward each other. The truth is he's been quite lonely on this station and the sight of a recognizable face is a considerable relief. So he stands next to his erstwhile friend/rival/enemy/acquaintance and just savors the moment of familiarity. Until Hank turns to address him. ]

Life, certainly. Somebody built this place, after all. Whether it's still there and how intelligent it ever was, that's less clear.
