TEST DRIVE #002

TEST DRIVE #002
( 0 0 1 ) » WAKE UP
Were you asleep or were you unconscious? It doesn't matter: when you come to, there's an odd taste in your mouth and there's a low-level mechanical hum in the air. Your head hurts and you feel nauseous. You aren't anywhere you know: everything around you is metal, from the floor you lie on all the way to the ceiling. You are dressed in a jumpsuit you definitely weren't wearing before.
"We tried to save the world. I think— I think we did the opposite."
The message repeats on a loop. If you look for its source, you find a comms device on the floor next to you. The logo on its wallpaper says REVERIE TERMINAL. Upon closer inspection, you find the same logo on your jumpsuit.
Welcome to your new home. What choice do you have but to explore your surroundings?
( 0 0 1 . 1 ) » WAKE UP WHERE?When you wake up, you find that you're not alone. But more importantly, you find that you're in a closet. An empty closet, bar you and your new companion. It's small, cramped, and there is no door that you can see. The ceiling is low, there is barely any lights, only some coming from the tiny flashlight clipped to your suit's shoulder. You cannot be sure that there is any air coming in to the room.
Are these grooves in the wall supposed to mean something?

( 0 0 2 ) » OBSERVATION DECK
There were no windows in the corridor you woke up in and no windows in any of the crew quarters you might have checked for occupants — but there are plenty of windows on the uppermost level of the station, deck 1. In fact, there are windows from floor to ceiling all along the circumference of the station's circular deck, and it's possible to walk along it all. What it shows is a strange solar system you've never seen before and a planet that might resemble one you know, but certainly isn't the same.
You're in space. You don't know where you are. Neither does anyone else.

( 0 0 3 ) » BAR
On deck 3, you find the bar. Tucked away from the crew quarters, it's dimly lit, there are bar stools thrown down on the floor and what looks like some very old drink spills, crusty and dark against the bar top. But there is alcohol here, or at least, what you think is alcohol, in bottles with faded labels, most of them indecipherable. Take a drink, get drunk, start a fight, or start a party? You're stuck on this station, might as well make the most of it, right?

( 0 0 4 ) » SPACEQUAKES
One second, you are is walking. Magnetic boots are on, the ground feels solid enough, for a metal deck in a space station. Everything is perfectly fine, or at least as fine as it can be, given that you still don't know where you are or how you came to be here.
The next moment, it's like everything explodes around you. You're thrown against the wall as sparks erupts from electrical panels, as the whole station rumbles and shakes around you. You fall to the deck, earning yourself scratches from the grating. When you look up, it's like nothing has happened. No wires hanging from open panels, no flickering lights, no more shaking. Like an earthquake in space.

( 0 0 5 ) » NETWORK
The comms device you found next to you when waking up connects to a station-wide network, REVERIE NET. You have the option to post video, voice or text messages.
What will you share?

( 0 0 6 ) » WILDCARD
The station features a variety of locations, from sleeping quarters free for the claiming to a dirty swimming pool and a bar that still holds alcohol (though some of the bottles seem to have been opened a while ago).
Go wild, but don't wreck the place. It's your home for the foreseeable future, after all.

Life, certainly. Somebody built this place, after all. Whether it's still there and how intelligent it ever was, that's less clear.

Erik! You're here! You look... [ Older? As grouchy as ever? ]...Well.
no subject
That's generous. I've been stuck in this place for weeks. I haven't been able to find a way back. It's crawling with humans. Nobody knows why we're here, and there have been strange happenings that seem almost designed to cause as much stress as possible. [ The look he gives Hank is resigned. ] What have you been up to lately?
no subject
[ He shakes his head as if to clear it, and finally turns his body to face Erik, rather than just address him standing side by side. ]
What do you mean you've been here for weeks? I just saw you, in Washington.

Do you recognize any of these star systems? I'm unable to match them to any discovered systems in our galaxy. [A fact that was distressing. It was throwing off his internal GPS, which wasn't ideal.]
The moon landing? The moon landing that occurred on July 20th, 1969? [Connor turned away from the alien planet to give Hank a puzzled look.]
no subject
Yes, that's the one. That was the big one everyone stopped to watch on television.
no subject
Why were you rewatching such an old event? [The little light spun again, this time a soft blue as he thought. For a moment he thought, maybe, it might have been during an event celebrating an anniversary of the landing, but, unless it was annual, there wasn't a significant marker until next year, which would have been the 70th anniversary of the landing.] Are you a teacher? [He's trying, okay? Definitely reaching at straws.]
no subject
depending on Hank's canon point) ]Sort of? Not anymore. But I wasn't talking about rewatching it. I meant, we all gathered around the set in '69 to watch it happen.

She's coming out of the gym, a little disappointed and a little disgusted--that water seems like a breeding ground for bacteria--when she nearly walks into the big blue guy rushing past.
A noise of surprise, and she's reached out to grab his arm. Gently. (And that's when she thinks you don't even know they're a mutant they could be an alien what are you doing. But it's too late, the deed is done. ]
Hey! Are you all right?
of course!
Sorry. Yes. I'm just... having some trouble adjusting.
no subject
No, I'm... [ She shakes her head, as if to say my fault. ] I didn't mean to startle you.
[ She can relate to having some trouble adjusting. ]
You weren't arrested before you got here, by any chance?
no subject
Not exactly.
[ There was that mess, but no one had arrested them. ]

[What are you up to, Hank? And who's this 'friend'? Is someone else here too? Dread is filling her up to bursting.]
no subject
No, it's not an illness. The formula is to treat the lingering after effects of an old injury my friend suffered. It's a very complicated gene therapy treatment I devised myself, actually, but I figured more people would understand if I called it a medicine.
no subject
I see. That's some injury if you need to alter their genes to fix it.
[She's got a clear idea of who he's talking about too.]
no subject
It sounds more intense than it really is, honestly.
[ He doesn't want to give too much information away, but... he needs answers. And resources. ]

wildcarding it!
The particular shape up ahead, though? That blue's pretty darn hard to miss. The figure is too large to be Mystique, thank goodness, lacking the litheness the woman had always possessed, but there have been plenty of other blues in her life. Still, without being able to get a good look at them, she can't make any assumptions, even if there do seem to be more mutants showing up lately. ]
Are you alright, sugar?
no subject
But then, he was on live television looking like this. The whole world knows he's blue and furry. Why not space, too? ]
I'm alright, [ He answers, still sheepish. ] Just... a little uncomfortable.
no subject
Not used to uniforms like this?
[ Her tone is conversational, friendly, and she purposefully puts a bit more emphasis into her southern drawl, knowing people often found it soothing. ]
no subject
No, I've worn flight suits like this before. [ He's designed flight suits like this before. ] It's just that this one isn't exactly my size, like this.

Hank?! [She seems surprised to see him, but a warm smile of recognition immediately lights up her features and puts her at ease. Even if he's from another universe, he's still Hank.] Ah'd worry less about the gun show and more about your britches. These uniforms ain't spandex anythin'.
tentatively placing this after his previous thread with the other Rogue
He turns, squinting at the familiar-yet-not appearance of the woman speaking to him. ]
Rogue? [ Though, maybe not... A sister perhaps? Though why would that unique hair coloration be genetic? (If she's a mutant, he can probably throw anything he knew about hereditary genes right out the window.)
In any case, he coughs quietly and tries to get a handle on the tattered remains of his jumpsuit. ]
Ahem. Yeah, I was, uh. Trying to find out if they had anything in a larger size.
Poor Hank XD;
Truth be told, he's been through so many evolutions in appearance that his slightly different look doesn't even phase her. Maybe he's even from her world? Doubtful, but one can hope.]
You're a sight for sore eyes sugah.
[And she's not lying about that. His explanation earns an empathetic chuckle as she nods down the hallway. She's snagged She-Hulk's powers previously, and that definitely destroyed that suit beyond repair.] You mind company?
no subject
Um. Sure. Maybe you have a better idea of where to look than I might.
