What do you really think of Miller?

I think he's half a hero and half an idiot and he's so damn depressed he's more likely to get himself spaced than anything else.

But he's family, whether he likes it or not.

He made some dumb decisions but since that all happened I'm not sure I could say that I wouldn't have done the same, if I had the balls that he does.

We went through some shit, together. All of us. He saved our skins, first day we met him, and I don't think Holden would have even got off Eros, without 'im.

We fell in together and he fit. Our whole family is made of people that wouldn't exactly fit in anywhere else. But we've got each other. Even when Holden was furious with him an' banned him from the ship, everyone was walkin' around on egg shells like there was a hole that was missin'.

After he died, we left a chair for him.

It's bullshit. You're so confident when you pilot, when you tell stories. You should be like that all the time.

So you could believe that Babs wants you.

If I managed the rest of anything else like the way I can fly the Roci, maybe I would be. But there ain't anything else in my life that's as easy as that. That makes as much sense. She's easy to tell stories about and it's easy to know when I've done a damn good job because if I hadn't, we'll all be dead.

If I could do literally nothin' but fly the Roci all the time, I'd be a lot happier.

But the Roci ain't here, an' I'm stuck with nothin' the hell else to do, and I know it.



And I don't know. Part of me thinks she might. The rest of me can't help but just wait for the other shoe to drop, I guess.

So, what made you want to become a pilot?

Hell, I wanted to be a pilot so young I barely even remember.

There's only so many career paths, for your twenty. Either Military or Engineerin', and I ain't an engineer.

I wanted to pilot the gunships, but - well. They didn't think I was enough, for that. So I was just a transport pilot, but.

Even transports - I'd rather be flying than doin' anything else.
