TEST DRIVE #003

TEST DRIVE #003
( 0 0 1 ) » WAKE UP
Were you asleep or were you unconscious? It doesn't matter: when you come to, there's an odd taste in your mouth and there's a low-level mechanical hum in the air. Your head hurts and you feel nauseous. You aren't anywhere you know: everything around you is metal, from the floor you lie on all the way to the ceiling. You are dressed in a jumpsuit you definitely weren't wearing before.
"We tried to save the world. I think— I think we did the opposite."
The message repeats on a loop. If you look for its source, you find a comms device on the floor next to you. The logo on its wallpaper says REVERIE TERMINAL. Upon closer inspection, you find the same logo on your jumpsuit.
Welcome to your new home. What choice do you have but to explore your surroundings?
( 0 0 1 . 1 ) » WAKE UP WHERE?When you wake up, you assume you’re on solid ground. It would be what makes the most sense, right? But it doesn’t explain the floating sensation you feel, which is sort of comfortable - until you come out of the daze, only to realize that you’re in space. You can see a space station, huge and imposing, not so far away, but you’re in a spacesuit, slowly moving away from it.
Uh-oh. That doesn’t seem very good. Luckily, it looks like you have a functioning radio… Maybe someone will come rescue you?

( 0 0 2 ) » OBSERVATION DECK
There were no windows in the corridor you woke up in and no windows in any of the crew quarters you might have checked for occupants — but there are plenty of windows on the uppermost level of the station, deck 1. In fact, there are windows from floor to ceiling all along the circumference of the station's circular deck, and it's possible to walk along it all. What it shows is a strange solar system you've never seen before and a planet that might resemble one you know, but certainly isn't the same.
You're in space. You don't know where you are beyond that. Neither does anyone else.

( 0 0 3 ) » BAR
On deck 3, you find the bar. Tucked away from the crew quarters, it's dimly lit, there are bar stools thrown down on the floor and what looks like some very old drink spills, crusty and dark against the bar top. But there is alcohol here, or at least, what you think is alcohol, in bottles with faded labels, most of them indecipherable. Take a drink, get drunk, start a fight, or start a party? You're stuck on this station, might as well make the most of it, right?

( 0 0 4 ) » SICK SICK SICK
At first, it feels like the flu. A fever, some sweats, a dry cough, aching muscles. And then it gets worse. For a while, you’re not sure what it is, but suddenly your hand just goes through a wall, and when you look down, your whole body seems pale, translucent, like you’re being erased.
It comes and goes. Don’t get trapped in the walls or the floor! That’s never a good time.

( 0 0 5 ) » NETWORK
The comms device you found next to you when waking up connects to a station-wide network, REVERIE NET. You have the option to post video, voice or text messages.
What will you share?

( 0 0 6 ) » WILDCARD
The station features a variety of locations, from sleeping quarters free for the claiming to a dirty swimming pool and a bar that still holds alcohol (though some of the bottles seem to have been opened a while ago).
Go wild, but don't wreck the place. It's your home for the foreseeable future, after all.
Navigation.
As a quick note, there are currently 19 spots open before the game hits cap.

UGH this is already super cute???
Did you grab a bunk yet?
IT IS sdlfkjadlfgj i love it
all of the things she freaked out about earlier are still happening, are still true. ]
No. Was I supposed to?
bellamy is really bad about adopting people rip lara jean
[He's teasing, mostly. Bellamy tilts his head toward the door.]
I'll show you where they are.
pls be her big brother kthx
she doesn't particularly want to sleep anywhere but her own bedroom, but it doesn't seem like she's getting much choice in the matter and if it's between a strange bed and the floor, she'll pick the bed. ]
Okay.
[ following older guys she doesn't know when she has no idea where she's going sounds like a bad idea on paper, but right now, she's glad not to be alone. ]
THIS IS LIKE A MONKEY PAW WISH WITH HIS LUCK TBH
I've only been here a couple of days, but I'm getting the basics down.
[So once they reach one of the crew decks, he nods toward the doors.]
If you pick an empty room, it'll be assigned to you with this thing.
[He holds up his wrist, showing her the communicator they all wake up with.]
whelp
How do I know which ones are empty? [ she asks, still hovering by his side, a little behind. she's loathe to leave that spot, for once not keen on being alone at all. ]
no subject
[He's just teasing her, although it is mostly trial and error.]
The taken rooms are locked.
no subject
[ too flat to be a question. her facial expression is the equivalent of "haha, very funny" in non-verbal eyebrow gestures, but it only lasts for a second. still, she's grateful for it a moment later because it felt normal and nothing about this place seems to be. ]
Guess I'll just - [ she picks a door at random, lifting a hand to knock. it slides open before she has a chance to even knock. not locked, then.
a glance back at bellamy, then she steps into the room. ]
no subject
The room itself isn't very impressive. It's spartan and utilitarian, smaller than even the rooms on the Ark were.]
Guess this one's officially yours. Don't worry, none of the rooms are any better.
no subject
Are there any books?
no subject
Yeah. There's an entire library.
[So you can read your heart out, Lara Jean.]
no subject
[ the relief in her tone is as genuine as it is obvious, which is to say: very. ]
Can I see it? Do you know where it is?
