Perhaps you should reevaluate what it is that you find that is important to you, then. Your morals, your viewpoints.

Nothing is ever so simple. But it is never too late to adapt.

I would like to think I'm adaptable.

But there are some things that I've been told are wrong.

They don't feel wrong.

Perhaps it is less adapting and more to agreeing to change what you thought you knew to be the truth.

Humans in my world have little comprehension of complicated science, for example. Plumbing, electricity, engineering, machinery -- seeing such things would make them think it is magic, declaring it abominations and witchcraft. It isn't ever so simple.

An open mind is a difficult thing. Changing your mind is harder.
