TEST DRIVE #002

TEST DRIVE #002
( 0 0 1 ) » WAKE UP
Were you asleep or were you unconscious? It doesn't matter: when you come to, there's an odd taste in your mouth and there's a low-level mechanical hum in the air. Your head hurts and you feel nauseous. You aren't anywhere you know: everything around you is metal, from the floor you lie on all the way to the ceiling. You are dressed in a jumpsuit you definitely weren't wearing before.
"We tried to save the world. I think— I think we did the opposite."
The message repeats on a loop. If you look for its source, you find a comms device on the floor next to you. The logo on its wallpaper says REVERIE TERMINAL. Upon closer inspection, you find the same logo on your jumpsuit.
Welcome to your new home. What choice do you have but to explore your surroundings?
( 0 0 1 . 1 ) » WAKE UP WHERE?When you wake up, you find that you're not alone. But more importantly, you find that you're in a closet. An empty closet, bar you and your new companion. It's small, cramped, and there is no door that you can see. The ceiling is low, there is barely any lights, only some coming from the tiny flashlight clipped to your suit's shoulder. You cannot be sure that there is any air coming in to the room.
Are these grooves in the wall supposed to mean something?

( 0 0 2 ) » OBSERVATION DECK
There were no windows in the corridor you woke up in and no windows in any of the crew quarters you might have checked for occupants — but there are plenty of windows on the uppermost level of the station, deck 1. In fact, there are windows from floor to ceiling all along the circumference of the station's circular deck, and it's possible to walk along it all. What it shows is a strange solar system you've never seen before and a planet that might resemble one you know, but certainly isn't the same.
You're in space. You don't know where you are. Neither does anyone else.

( 0 0 3 ) » BAR
On deck 3, you find the bar. Tucked away from the crew quarters, it's dimly lit, there are bar stools thrown down on the floor and what looks like some very old drink spills, crusty and dark against the bar top. But there is alcohol here, or at least, what you think is alcohol, in bottles with faded labels, most of them indecipherable. Take a drink, get drunk, start a fight, or start a party? You're stuck on this station, might as well make the most of it, right?

( 0 0 4 ) » SPACEQUAKES
One second, you are is walking. Magnetic boots are on, the ground feels solid enough, for a metal deck in a space station. Everything is perfectly fine, or at least as fine as it can be, given that you still don't know where you are or how you came to be here.
The next moment, it's like everything explodes around you. You're thrown against the wall as sparks erupts from electrical panels, as the whole station rumbles and shakes around you. You fall to the deck, earning yourself scratches from the grating. When you look up, it's like nothing has happened. No wires hanging from open panels, no flickering lights, no more shaking. Like an earthquake in space.

( 0 0 5 ) » NETWORK
The comms device you found next to you when waking up connects to a station-wide network, REVERIE NET. You have the option to post video, voice or text messages.
What will you share?

( 0 0 6 ) » WILDCARD
The station features a variety of locations, from sleeping quarters free for the claiming to a dirty swimming pool and a bar that still holds alcohol (though some of the bottles seem to have been opened a while ago).
Go wild, but don't wreck the place. It's your home for the foreseeable future, after all.
no subject
Hardly. From what I understand it's in a galaxy far, far removed from ours. At least, if you recognize Scarif I assume you and I hail from the same place.
no subject
[ Which is disconcerting, to say the least. A great number of people from beyond their known universe, all brought here against their will with no sign of means or motive. It's like something out of fiction. ]
I'm from Naboo, but I had just landed on Coruscant for a meeting of the Senate.
[ An important meeting that she was furious to be pulled away from. If all of this were a little less fantastical, she would have blamed her kidnapping on the same party responsible for the assassination attempt. ]
no subject
[ he's trying to gage her reaction, weighing it carefully though she is already thinking this is another case of disparate timelines. ]
no subject
With sincere apology in her voice, and a bit of dismay, she explains ] I'm sorry, but I'm not sure to which Empire you're referring. [ Because it's clear from the way it was stated that she's supposed to know this. ]
no subject
You must be from before their reign. All the better, then.
no subject
[ There's something in the other woman's posture, breathing, something that hints that not all is well. The information Padme is missing is important, and suddenly it feels as if a shadow is looming over her, waiting to strike whatever blow she doesn't see coming. She's not entirely sure she's all right, to be honest. ]
no subject
This place will make you want to question your sanity. Don't let it.
no subject
What can you tell me of this place? It's clear you've been here much longer than I.
no subject
Most of the people here are from the planet called Earth, which is why I assumed you might be from there. I'm honestly relieved, though we seem to be from disparate timelines. That happens frequently as well. [ oh well. she offers the other woman a gloved hand suddenly. ] Jyn Erso, daughter of Galen Erso. [ though again, she expects it to mean nothing. ]
no subject
No, Jyn's father's name means nothing to Padmé, but she files it away with the information that he worked for this Empire she'd spoken of. Regardless of that, she takes that offered hand and offers her own introduction. ] Padmé Amidala, Senator of Naboo.

Thank you. I'm sorry that I don't recognize your name, or your father's. I feel very much out of my depth right now, and I'm afraid I'm not used to that.
no subject
[ she looks down at her hand when padme lets go, like a celebrity had touched her. it's not so far off really. ]
We're all out of our depth here, Senator.
no subject
How can I help? [ It's the public servant in her, the desire to provide aid to others already settling in strong. ] I already have every intention of continuing my investigation into all the mysteries here, but if there's something more I can do, then I want to.
no subject
[ it isn't her wheelhouse, but she's trying her damnedest here. all she did was unlock a library but she isn't giving up. she'd rather die first. something in her senses that padmé is the same. ]
Other than that all we can do is support those who fall ill or are otherwise... affected by the station's cruelty. Something new cycles through every four weeks or so, but people are attacked individually at random, and by no discernible cause.
no subject
[ To put it lightly. People are attacked? There's illness here, in such an enclosed space? Already, she's making plans to try to speak to these people and gather all the information she can about the attacks, as well as investigate the air filtration systems on the station. They need all the information they can get their hands on if they're to escape. ]
But it isn't my first time facing insurmountable odds. We will do all that you have said, and we will find a way home for all of these people. I won't rest until we do.
no subject
I share your sentiment, ma'am, and I look forward to working with you to this end.
no subject
[ If they are going to be working together on something this incredible, they should at least be on a first name basis. ]
/end scene
As you wish, Padmé.
