TEST DRIVE #002

TEST DRIVE #002

( 0 0 1 ) » WAKE UP
Were you asleep or were you unconscious? It doesn't matter: when you come to, there's an odd taste in your mouth and there's a low-level mechanical hum in the air. Your head hurts and you feel nauseous. You aren't anywhere you know: everything around you is metal, from the floor you lie on all the way to the ceiling. You are dressed in a jumpsuit you definitely weren't wearing before.

"We tried to save the world. I think— I think we did the opposite."

The message repeats on a loop. If you look for its source, you find a comms device on the floor next to you. The logo on its wallpaper says REVERIE TERMINAL. Upon closer inspection, you find the same logo on your jumpsuit.

Welcome to your new home. What choice do you have but to explore your surroundings?
( 0 0 1 . 1 ) » WAKE UP WHERE?
When you wake up, you find that you're not alone. But more importantly, you find that you're in a closet. An empty closet, bar you and your new companion. It's small, cramped, and there is no door that you can see. The ceiling is low, there is barely any lights, only some coming from the tiny flashlight clipped to your suit's shoulder. You cannot be sure that there is any air coming in to the room.

Are these grooves in the wall supposed to mean something?

( 0 0 2 ) » OBSERVATION DECK
There were no windows in the corridor you woke up in and no windows in any of the crew quarters you might have checked for occupants — but there are plenty of windows on the uppermost level of the station, deck 1. In fact, there are windows from floor to ceiling all along the circumference of the station's circular deck, and it's possible to walk along it all. What it shows is a strange solar system you've never seen before and a planet that might resemble one you know, but certainly isn't the same.

You're in space. You don't know where you are. Neither does anyone else.

( 0 0 3 ) » BAR
On deck 3, you find the bar. Tucked away from the crew quarters, it's dimly lit, there are bar stools thrown down on the floor and what looks like some very old drink spills, crusty and dark against the bar top. But there is alcohol here, or at least, what you think is alcohol, in bottles with faded labels, most of them indecipherable. Take a drink, get drunk, start a fight, or start a party? You're stuck on this station, might as well make the most of it, right?

( 0 0 4 ) » SPACEQUAKES
One second, you are is walking. Magnetic boots are on, the ground feels solid enough, for a metal deck in a space station. Everything is perfectly fine, or at least as fine as it can be, given that you still don't know where you are or how you came to be here.

The next moment, it's like everything explodes around you. You're thrown against the wall as sparks erupts from electrical panels, as the whole station rumbles and shakes around you. You fall to the deck, earning yourself scratches from the grating. When you look up, it's like nothing has happened. No wires hanging from open panels, no flickering lights, no more shaking. Like an earthquake in space.

( 0 0 5 ) » NETWORK
The comms device you found next to you when waking up connects to a station-wide network, REVERIE NET. You have the option to post video, voice or text messages.

What will you share?

( 0 0 6 ) » WILDCARD
The station features a variety of locations, from sleeping quarters free for the claiming to a dirty swimming pool and a bar that still holds alcohol (though some of the bottles seem to have been opened a while ago).

Go wild, but don't wreck the place. It's your home for the foreseeable future, after all.

[Minato was walking by on his way to somewhere or another, but he was drawn in by the sound of a communicator calling out that tell-tale pre recorded message. Time to help someone out, he guessed?? But then Jun calls out, and Minato's quite confused, hands stuck in his pockets and head tilting slightly. Why was this complete stranger calling the names of his and his online friend's MMO characters??]

...Yes?

[Well, that was a strange answer to that. Jun just stares at Minato for a moment, searching his face. He could sense that he had a Persona, and he had just answered 'Yes?' to him calling for Tatsuya and Maya.]

...Where... [Give him a moment to actually think on what he needs to ask. What he should ask.]

...Where are the other Persona users...?

[Well, you just continue to confuse him, Jun. He's unsure what to make of it, unsure what to make of him — he figures he must be like Fuuka though, if he's able to sense something like that. Part of him grows protective, unwilling to just reveal the others to this stranger, as he didn't know what his intentions were, or who he was. But, it wasn't like he hadn't taken a chance with Ryuji, right? In this strange place in the middle of nowhere, other Persona users ought to stick together, really. This guy certainly needed a hand, at the very least.]

There's no one named Maya here, or Tatsuya.

[There, that's where he'd start, while he thinks up a course of action.]

[There is no hiding the disappointment on his face when he hears that Tatsuya and Maya are not here. He visibly deflates before going to get up from his spot on the floor. It takes him a moment to think about what he should do then. He had at least decided 'not sit on the floor and try not to cry'.]

...Eikichi or Lisa... maybe? [Sorry guys, Jun definitely had a preference. Honestly, he'd be happy to see any of them, but he had his preferences.]

Do you know them?
foolishjourney: (♪ 12223551)

[personal profile] foolishjourney 2018-06-12 01:00 am (UTC)(link)
No. Sorry.

[He sticks his hands in his pockets, scuffing his shoe against the floor a bit. Minato felt kind of genuinely sorry, since this guy actually looked pretty upset about the whole thing. What was his story, Minato wondered? Especially if he was a Persona user...]

It's possible I might've missed them, but none of the Persona users here go by those names.

[That was really disappointing, and did nothing to ease his anxiety at the situation. They had just been there. This was supposed to fix everything. They were not supposed to remember, but be okay now.]

Were we tricked? [Again?! He's torn between being angry and blaming himself again. This was his fault. He had been too easy to manipulate, had done terrible things because of it.]

Wh-Where are we, anyway?

Reverie Terminal.

[God, he'd been here just over a week himself, he wasn't prepared or qualified to do a welcoming tour. If anyone should be responsible for taking care of another Persona user, though, he figured it might as well be him.]

It's a space station in uncharted space orbiting a planet none of us know the name of. If you don't believe me, I'll take you to a window.
floriographys: (x14)

[personal profile] floriographys 2018-06-12 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh cool. A space station orbiting some planet no one has heard of. Nice. As if he hadn't already been all over the damn place. This had better not be another rumor coming true.]

Mmmhh. Thank you.

[He wasn't sure if he wanted to stick around, though. Being alone was... not great.]

I don't think... I want a window though.
foolishjourney: (♪ 12223597)

[personal profile] foolishjourney 2018-06-12 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
Fair enough. Space isn't for everyone.

[Minato shrugs a little.]

I can... show you around. If you want.

[personal profile] floriographys 2018-06-12 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
I just don't think I'm up to look at the stars right now.

[Since the last thing he remembers was being in the room with Philemon and Nyarlathotep, surrounded by 'stars'. He wasn't feeling up to it at all.]

...Sure. I guess there is nothing better to do.

[He did look dejected, even so. He didn't like this option, but he didn't know what better to do other than look around, maybe see if he can't find anything good.]

There isn't.

[Minato says flatly, one hand in his pocket while the other gestures in a "come along" gesture.]

I'm not very good at tours. As a warning.
floriographys: (p20)

[personal profile] floriographys 2018-06-22 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
[Jun shrugs at that. He wasn't really in this for the entertainment value anyway.]

That's fine, I'm not a very good tourist.

So... we'll skip the Observation Deck, I guess.

[Hm. What's the closest thing to where they are?]

I'll show you where we eat, first.
