It's not about owing.

I've seen a lot of people die, for stupid reasons, or for people trying to gain power, or for people just straight up not caring.

I know what monsters look like.

You aren't one.

If you'd been there, seen the things I've done - you wouldn't be so sure.

I've seen some things that I wouldn't wish on anyone, and I've been witness to a lot of death.

And I've let a lot of people die.

I'm not going to say I'm very enthralled by the idea, or proud of it, but I understand the urge to do what you did.

And I understand when the people who are supposed to be giving you orders, the people you're supposed to trust, betray not only you but the people you care about.

I get it.

What I did before is worse, under orders from a government I trusted. I know you get it, but it doesn't change what I am. That there's always been darkness inside of me. That's why I joined up, you know. I had to get it out - take it out on people who deserved it. I thought I knew what I was doing, I thought I knew who to trust even when my own guts were screaming it was wrong.
