Why are you so into Harry Potter?

I'm not, not really. But it reminds me of Lisa. All that girl ever did was read.

I have things that remind me of my brother, so I know what that's like.

Why do you think you're a Hufflepuff?

[oorah]

What reminds you of him?

Because I'm loyal, hard-working and I believe in justice. Why? Do you think I fit better somewhere else?

No. I'm just trying to figure out how a Slytherin and a Hufflepuff work so well together.

Hockey and ice skating remind me of my brother. It's probably why I haven't been back home in years, not even for the holidays. I'm always afraid something will remind me of him.

Because it's the healthy thing to do. But that doesn't mean that I have to follow my own advice.

Right, because my kids aren't. I thought we could talk about anything, or is that only when you're grilling me?

We can talk about anything. What did you want to know?

What do you miss most about him? What annoyed you? What did you love and hate? The people we lose aren't just about the good memories, it's hard to remember that most of all sometimes.

[subplot]

I miss how protective he was, even if I'd hate it because it meant he was always butting into my life. He'd never leave me alone, but that meant I'd never be alone. He'd never let me win at games, it's why I'm so determined to always win. I think so many of the things I am now are because of his influence.

[oorah]

I wish I could've met him. [ that's the thing you say, right? ] What do you think he woulda thought of me? [ he'd probably hate frank anywhere near karen, he's already anticipating the answer ]

I think that he would be happy that I'm happy. And that I finally found someone willing to put up with my shit.

[Ha. How about that for an unpredictable answer?]

He'd probably still try to punch you.
