You really think I'm amazing? Okay maybe wrong question. I just don't get why you'd think that. I've always been weird and complicated. None of that seems amazing to me.

No, which actually surprised me. That's the normal reaction to finding out an adult you trust went on a murder spree, right? I should be afraid of what you're capable of. But, that's not how I feel. I feel.... confused and sad because I don't think you're some crazy monster. For it to even make a little bit of sense to me, all I can think is you must have done it because you felt you had no other options. That confuses me because how could there be no other options? It makes me sad because you have to live with what you've done. I don't know how you do it.

Because I don't feel ashamed of what I did. I don't regret it. It was justice.

These were very powerful people, with big connections. Even if they did go to jail... they could run things from the inside, like Kingpin does. They could still hurt more people.

But it was revenge too. I won't deny that.

[Kamala can read between the lines here. Obviously he knows she'll protect them the second they needed it. That's simply what she does even if she didn't love them. That second part actually explains a lot to her.] So what you're saying is it helps knowing I'd stop you the second you cross the line? Because you're right. I would even if I'd be really scared the whole time. I'd actually really appreciate it if you didn't lose it on me even if that's a promise you can't make.

[She already knows he'll flip if anything happens to her or Karen so she's not going to ask him to magically deal with it in a healthy way.]
