TEST DRIVE #002

TEST DRIVE #002

( 0 0 1 ) » WAKE UP
Were you asleep or were you unconscious? It doesn't matter: when you come to, there's an odd taste in your mouth and there's a low-level mechanical hum in the air. Your head hurts and you feel nauseous. You aren't anywhere you know: everything around you is metal, from the floor you lie on all the way to the ceiling. You are dressed in a jumpsuit you definitely weren't wearing before.

"We tried to save the world. I think— I think we did the opposite."

The message repeats on a loop. If you look for its source, you find a comms device on the floor next to you. The logo on its wallpaper says REVERIE TERMINAL. Upon closer inspection, you find the same logo on your jumpsuit.

Welcome to your new home. What choice do you have but to explore your surroundings?
( 0 0 1 . 1 ) » WAKE UP WHERE?
When you wake up, you find that you're not alone. But more importantly, you find that you're in a closet. An empty closet, bar you and your new companion. It's small, cramped, and there is no door that you can see. The ceiling is low, there is barely any lights, only some coming from the tiny flashlight clipped to your suit's shoulder. You cannot be sure that there is any air coming in to the room.

Are these grooves in the wall supposed to mean something?

( 0 0 2 ) » OBSERVATION DECK
There were no windows in the corridor you woke up in and no windows in any of the crew quarters you might have checked for occupants — but there are plenty of windows on the uppermost level of the station, deck 1. In fact, there are windows from floor to ceiling all along the circumference of the station's circular deck, and it's possible to walk along it all. What it shows is a strange solar system you've never seen before and a planet that might resemble one you know, but certainly isn't the same.

You're in space. You don't know where you are. Neither does anyone else.

( 0 0 3 ) » BAR
On deck 3, you find the bar. Tucked away from the crew quarters, it's dimly lit, there are bar stools thrown down on the floor and what looks like some very old drink spills, crusty and dark against the bar top. But there is alcohol here, or at least, what you think is alcohol, in bottles with faded labels, most of them indecipherable. Take a drink, get drunk, start a fight, or start a party? You're stuck on this station, might as well make the most of it, right?

( 0 0 4 ) » SPACEQUAKES
One second, you are is walking. Magnetic boots are on, the ground feels solid enough, for a metal deck in a space station. Everything is perfectly fine, or at least as fine as it can be, given that you still don't know where you are or how you came to be here.

The next moment, it's like everything explodes around you. You're thrown against the wall as sparks erupts from electrical panels, as the whole station rumbles and shakes around you. You fall to the deck, earning yourself scratches from the grating. When you look up, it's like nothing has happened. No wires hanging from open panels, no flickering lights, no more shaking. Like an earthquake in space.

( 0 0 5 ) » NETWORK
The comms device you found next to you when waking up connects to a station-wide network, REVERIE NET. You have the option to post video, voice or text messages.

What will you share?

( 0 0 6 ) » WILDCARD
The station features a variety of locations, from sleeping quarters free for the claiming to a dirty swimming pool and a bar that still holds alcohol (though some of the bottles seem to have been opened a while ago).

Go wild, but don't wreck the place. It's your home for the foreseeable future, after all.

Lapis Lazuli | Steven Universe

Observation Deck

Lapis has been staring out the observation deck for a good long while now, trying to piece together familiar constellations that might give her a clue as to where she might be in the universe.

She can't find anything familiar. The planet below isn't Earth, and it's not Homeworld, and it's not any other colony belonging to Homeworld that she's been to. It's an unknown, and quite frankly, Lapis doesn't like it.

Maybe you're next to her when she gestures out the window at the Everything.

"Hey. You have any clue where this is supposed to be?" Brainstorming should work, right?

Bar

Settling in is hard when once more, you've been removed from everything you felt comfortable in. For the record, Lapis is trying to... Not quite make friends, more trying to gauge how exactly she should react to everyone else, and who might be a threat, considering the sorts on this ship.

For better or worse, Lapis has grabbed an unidentifiable drink in an opaque coloured bottle, and is handing it off to whoever is closest at the time. "You're drinking this kind of thing, right?"

Whether or not it is actually ingestible is a whole other question. It could, very possibly be some sort of counter polisher.

It's more Nostos, right? It's gotten into the water, the air... maybe Velleck had just been soaking in it it'd made him virulent. It was the only explanation Mike had for everything that couldn't actually be on the other side of the glass.

Good old narcotics. Always a fun time.

He turns at the voice, eyebrows cocking bemusedly at the young - blue, sure - woman.

"...A particular imaginative corner of my brain?"

(He didn't even have a porthole in his cabin.)

"You own this galaxy, then?" Guess what, Lapis has no idea what a brain is. Not a clue. "That's a weird name for a colony. Didn't even know humans had colonies of their own."

Actually, wait. "Actually, since when can humans even get off planet? I've never seen your kind out in space." They need to breathe, right? Wouldn't they suffocate?

Spacequakes:

Mike hurls himself back onto his feet as quickly as he'd gone down, his arms out for reach, knees slightly bent for balance - a reflexive stance, ready and waiting for whatever was next. Explosions, shooting, an eldritch horror tearing up through the grating--

He turns slightly, casting his gaze quickly, but carefully down the corridor. His eyes narrow at the nothing that follows. Keeping his back to the wall, his lip curls - half snarl, half sneer.

"Oh, no. None of this horseshit. You wanted a piece, now come get it."

Mike looks at her for a beat, absently making a mental note to never have, see, or do whatever it was he'd done before-- what, exactly? He didn't remember even going to sleep.

"I think Neil Armstrong and the boys and might disagree with that."
mirrortide: (084)

[personal profile] mirrortide 2018-05-18 08:38 pm (UTC)(link)
"Niel who?" There probably was never a Neil Armstrong on her version of Earth, if only because Gems had already made a base by then.

Sorry bud, Lapis has no idea what you are talking about.

"Armstrong?" He blinks. "First man on the--" Then he frowns, realizing what he's doing. He lifts a hand, bringing that train thought to a halt.

Somehow he didn't think arguing with his imagination about the history of space exploration was going to get him any closer to understanding what was actually going on and how to fix it.

"Not important. Who, or what, are you?"

Aqua accepts the bottle from Lapis, mostly to inspect it with a curious gaze. The label is too worn to be helpful, even when she squints real hard at it.

"What is it...?"

Lapis seems to have an idea, anyway. She wouldn't pawn it off on someone otherwise, right???? Right.

"I'm Lapis Lazuli. A Lapis Lazuli." She feels like that should be obvious, but also, her interaction with humans has been Limited At Best. She puts her hands on her hips.

"What kind of human are you?" Obviously not a Greg, or an Andy.

"Like the stone?" he replies, brow only furrowing deeper. He looks at her a little more intently. Before, when he'd dosed, he'd still be able to see bits of what was real underneath the illusion. It was what had saved his life.

He peers at her and hopes for the truth.

"...Shouldn't you know my name already?"

"No clue. Everyone seems to be drinking stuff out of bottles like it." like it, being the operative words. "I thought you might want one."
theoceanbetween: ([says words])

[personal profile] theoceanbetween 2018-05-18 09:26 pm (UTC)(link)
"They have?"

That seems like a bad idea if the bottles are all beat up beyond recognition...Aqua takes the lid off of it to sniff it, screwing up her face because it's Strong.

"It smells like a chemical. Are you sure people are drinking this?"

Lapis didn't say anyone was enjoying it...so there's that.
mirrortide: (007)

I hit the wrong icon for that and u didnt tell me... Awful.

[personal profile] mirrortide 2018-05-18 09:33 pm (UTC)(link)
"Pretty sure." She'd grab the bottle back, but thats probably rude. Not that that would stop her. "You wanna try it anyway? It looked like some people were enjoying it."

Aqua would probably be so caught off guard Lapis could get away with such rudeness. But only once.

She's also torn. It smells bad, but...this world is weird. Maybe it's normal for this place? She looks from Lapis to the bottle, lifting it to her lips while staring at Lapis the whole time.

Which, great, because the second the liquid touches Aqua's tongue she's spewing it in Lapis's direction like someone told her a bad joke. Nasty.

Minato Arisato | Persona 3

[personal profile] foolishjourney 2018-05-18 10:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Observation Deck;

[Well, this certainly wasn't where Minato was expecting to be when he opened his eyes. Well, to be fair, he wasn't entirely sure what to have expected, if anything? Not this, anyways. Sighing, he stays laying on the ground for a little while longer, arms and legs splayed out around him, before finally sitting up. He then turns to look out the observation deck windows, face slowly contorting into confusion as he saw the unfamiliar planet down below.]

Ah. Unexpected.

Bar;

[He is a very good boy who has never done a single wrong in his life, and being underaged, of course he wasn't going to partake in any of the freely available alcohol that was sitting in the bar.

...Mostly because a lot of it looked extremely suspicious and old, and he wasn't about to end up throwing up in a corner in space just because he was curious. He sits down at the bar and rests his chin against his hands, elbows propped against the table, and contemplates life.

He doesn't notice someone walking in at first, but eventually the sounds of feet against the metal floor is enough to tip him off, and he looks at you from over his shoulder. He offers the slightest wave, but doesn't move to say anything. Very welcoming, Minato.]

Spacequakes;

[Minato falls to the floor with a thud and an "oomph", immediately moving to cover his head to protect himself from any falling debris. He stays solidly still until he's sure the quakes have stopped, and looks up slowly from his position on the floor with quite the look of confusion once he realizes everything looked completely normal, despite the fact he was very sure what he experienced had been real.

Ugh. He hated when people messed with his head.

If you're nearby, he'll look over at you with an obvious nonverbal "what just happened?" look, brushing himself off from his fall to the floor.]

Well that's a question that's gonna get you a few different answers and none of them very enjoyable.

Basically : you can't. Because we don't have a good god damned idea of who or what is. An' if anyone around here tells you that they're the governor or chief of security? They ain't. Though I'm half expectin' a fist fight on that any time now.

[personal profile] ryuji 2018-05-18 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
[Oh no... he's seen this before. He can almost tell when it's about to happen now, like a weird aura in the air, the humid feeling of a storm as it's about to pass, the chill of walking past a graveyard. Ryuji has enough sense, usually, to turn tail and start heading far, far away from the affected area. One of two things almost always happens: get hit, or get hit really hard and end up with more bruises and bumps than you cared to have.

And he figures people who've been here for the few weeks (?) on the station already have learned to tell the same telltale signs, so he's confused as Minato falls prey to it. He's never seen this guy before, but he feels compelled to give him a hand. He doesn't care what happens to him, but no one should have to go through this if they already know what everyone knows about this place.

It's goddamn haunted. And Ryuji goes flying, just like the times before- before picking himself up and starting over. Crazy how used to someone can get with these things.

Ryuji proffers a hand down to Minato to offer him up. There's a bandage covering a 3 inch length down the side of his cheek. Because ghost shenanigans. Or something like that.]

Agh... shit, man. You okay? No bleeding?
