A bit sheepishly, Alucard admits, "I used the shards to cut things, as I needed them to. Or, I used them to pinprick for blood tests. Not unlike you, if I taste someone's blood, I can determine their general health. I only need a drop. Rest assured, they were clean for the process, but it felt unrefined. Fortunately, now we have some medical supplies, but it's still limited. I hope I will not need to use them."

Once they reach the replicators, Alucard watches with fascination as the faux skin reveals the plastic fingers underneath as Connor explores the machine.

"I'm certain you can find a few people who would be interested," he assures. "I know about engines, but this is much further than anything I've experienced. For now, perhaps you should see about your thirium?"
