[there's no hesitation in following after apollo. even without that contact he'd only ever be a step or two behind him here. and it isn't just because he's the only note of familiarity in an otherwise foreign situation. he's missed this, more than he can say. missed being able to reach out and touch the other man whenever he wants. missed being close to his husband, to his literal better half.
his fingers slip between apollo's, hand tight around his as he gives in to a moment of weakness. it doesn't matter who is behind all this. doesn't matter if they're watching or not. as long as apollo is there with him, he can deal with whatever this situation is.
