TEST DRIVE #002

TEST DRIVE #002

( 0 0 1 ) » WAKE UP
Were you asleep or were you unconscious? It doesn't matter: when you come to, there's an odd taste in your mouth and there's a low-level mechanical hum in the air. Your head hurts and you feel nauseous. You aren't anywhere you know: everything around you is metal, from the floor you lie on all the way to the ceiling. You are dressed in a jumpsuit you definitely weren't wearing before.

"We tried to save the world. I think— I think we did the opposite."

The message repeats on a loop. If you look for its source, you find a comms device on the floor next to you. The logo on its wallpaper says REVERIE TERMINAL. Upon closer inspection, you find the same logo on your jumpsuit.

Welcome to your new home. What choice do you have but to explore your surroundings?
( 0 0 1 . 1 ) » WAKE UP WHERE?
When you wake up, you find that you're not alone. But more importantly, you find that you're in a closet. An empty closet, bar you and your new companion. It's small, cramped, and there is no door that you can see. The ceiling is low, there is barely any lights, only some coming from the tiny flashlight clipped to your suit's shoulder. You cannot be sure that there is any air coming in to the room.

Are these grooves in the wall supposed to mean something?

( 0 0 2 ) » OBSERVATION DECK
There were no windows in the corridor you woke up in and no windows in any of the crew quarters you might have checked for occupants — but there are plenty of windows on the uppermost level of the station, deck 1. In fact, there are windows from floor to ceiling all along the circumference of the station's circular deck, and it's possible to walk along it all. What it shows is a strange solar system you've never seen before and a planet that might resemble one you know, but certainly isn't the same.

You're in space. You don't know where you are. Neither does anyone else.

( 0 0 3 ) » BAR
On deck 3, you find the bar. Tucked away from the crew quarters, it's dimly lit, there are bar stools thrown down on the floor and what looks like some very old drink spills, crusty and dark against the bar top. But there is alcohol here, or at least, what you think is alcohol, in bottles with faded labels, most of them indecipherable. Take a drink, get drunk, start a fight, or start a party? You're stuck on this station, might as well make the most of it, right?

( 0 0 4 ) » SPACEQUAKES
One second, you are is walking. Magnetic boots are on, the ground feels solid enough, for a metal deck in a space station. Everything is perfectly fine, or at least as fine as it can be, given that you still don't know where you are or how you came to be here.

The next moment, it's like everything explodes around you. You're thrown against the wall as sparks erupts from electrical panels, as the whole station rumbles and shakes around you. You fall to the deck, earning yourself scratches from the grating. When you look up, it's like nothing has happened. No wires hanging from open panels, no flickering lights, no more shaking. Like an earthquake in space.

( 0 0 5 ) » NETWORK
The comms device you found next to you when waking up connects to a station-wide network, REVERIE NET. You have the option to post video, voice or text messages.

What will you share?

( 0 0 6 ) » WILDCARD
The station features a variety of locations, from sleeping quarters free for the claiming to a dirty swimming pool and a bar that still holds alcohol (though some of the bottles seem to have been opened a while ago).

Go wild, but don't wreck the place. It's your home for the foreseeable future, after all.

[ have a similarly salty space detective, tet. miller has julie's beads clutched in his hand, rolling them back and forth across his open palm as he stares out the floor-to-ceiling window. his friends left for the planet not long ago and he can't help wondering what they're going to find. no matter what it is, he can't go down there without the gravity grinding him into dust and it makes him feel useless. also of note is the star helix holster he's wearing, complete with a big fuckoff handgun at his waist. he notices a kid speaking up near him, but writes it off at first. then he's going back, trying to process what he'd said- ]

If you think I'm the worst thing you're gonna see around here then I already feel sorry for you. [ he sure doesn't sound sorry. miller wrinkles his nose and relents a little, slipping the necklace back into his pocket and pushing his hat back some to scratch at his forehead with the opposite hand. ] Miller.

all those people who could be that for me, they're all dead.

sucks to be me, i guess, haha.

so what are you doing here? did you choose to be here?
nishizono: (7 - DpMr9bm)

[personal profile] nishizono 2018-07-28 09:18 pm (UTC)(link)
it's drugs. the answer's always drugs. i know this to be true, okay?

what do you mean swords don't exist? they're fucking swords. they can exist at any time and any place if you're creative enough!
glitchinthesystem: (No trust)

[personal profile] glitchinthesystem 2018-07-28 09:27 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm finding even that hard to believe. The robots usually are better at keeping the medical stuff away from everyone...

Also again, do you REALLY think the robots would fucking let us make weapons? They'd beat the shit out of you before you had the thought.

[ See, he's totally the sane one in this argument. ]
nishizono: (6 - SJgrGHn)

[personal profile] nishizono 2018-07-28 09:28 pm (UTC)(link)
[ well, that was intense. a little weird, if he's being honest - and tetora's seen a lot. he doesn't quite take a step back, but he does let some of his surprise show on his expression as he watches the man be... weird as all get out, honestly.

are those beads? is that a gun? in space? does he not realize how dangerous a gun would be in a hulk of metal floating in the vast abyss of the stars?

this is starting to give him a headache.
]

Look, Miller - name's Tetora, by the way - just tell me how to get the fuck off this thing and back home and I'll be out of everyone's hair. Yeah? That cool with you?

I've got people to murder. Can't murder them from the sky.
nishizono: (28 - PmMXs8p)

[personal profile] nishizono 2018-07-28 09:29 pm (UTC)(link)
robots. the robots are better.

[ what kind of nightmare is this? ]

someone has to invent the robots first for that to happen. do you see any robots around?
glitchinthesystem: (Are you sure that's legal)

[personal profile] glitchinthesystem 2018-07-28 09:34 pm (UTC)(link)
[ the one where everyone is crazy but you but they all think you're the crazy one ]

Well no, but that just leads to the question what kind of fucked up dome is this?. I mean, I'm not complaining i hate those damn robots, but it's still all kinds of weird at how run down this dome looks.
nishizono: (32 - LoxTAzO)

[personal profile] nishizono 2018-07-28 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
[ tetora's used to being the crazy one. this is a different brand of it. ]

we're neither in kansas or narnia, you fucknut.
have you ever heard of earth?
earth to you, hello???

[ that startles a laugh out him, short but genuine. ]

Me, too.

[ just once, he was hoping to be a big damn hero this go-round, but it's back to being the gadget guy in record time. after a beat, he offers his hand to shake. ]

Leo Fitz, by the way.
glitchinthesystem: (my eye on you)

such a wonderful friendship in the making

[personal profile] glitchinthesystem 2018-07-28 09:43 pm (UTC)(link)
[ The same couldn't be said of Glitch. He thought he was Very sane. ]

Wow, fuck you too, asshole. Of course, I know about earth. You ever been to a goddamn history class?

i love them already

[personal profile] nishizono 2018-07-28 09:52 pm (UTC)(link)
earth isn't history, it's earth! what kind of drugs are you fucking hitting because i want a good damn dose of it for myself, it sounds like a trip.

come on, share with the class!
glitchinthesystem: (my eye on you)

Truly the most profound camaraderie of all.

[personal profile] glitchinthesystem 2018-07-28 09:55 pm (UTC)(link)
jesus, I don't need to be taking drugs to know what happened to the planet we're on. You know, cause I paid attention.

Don't you know about the whole "hey we have nukes, lets drop them on everything cause we hate each other" made the planet unbearable now we're in these domes?

Remember that? Or are you always tweaked the fuck out?

[Bellamy crosses his arms, expression closing off.]

Population control was strict on the Ark. My mother had a second child, and we had to hide her. When the council found out, they floated her, imprisoned my sister, then demoted me and halved my rations.

Dutch. You been here long?

[ ah, he gets it. he understands (and also doesn't at all, but this is more interesting). ]

that hasn't happened for me, so i guess you're from the future. huh.

this is some trip. i might come to like it.
resleeves: (N I N E)

004 omg forgive me for him

[personal profile] resleeves 2018-07-28 10:17 pm (UTC)(link)
They're stars. What the fuck should be good about this view?

( it doesn't help that he's seen it every day for the past few months. he's getting tired of waking up and seeing these same fucking stars and that same fucking planet. he wants to fucking be done with this place but apparently, his shitty life and luck has other plans. )

You're not going to start waxing poetic about stars and the vastness of space, are you?
resleeves: (T H I R T Y N I N E)

002 here we go, best frands in the making

[personal profile] resleeves 2018-07-28 10:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Stars. If you need more of an explanation than that, find someone else. I ain't holding your hand through the whole thing.

( fuck that. maybe space cop would walk him through an astronomy lesson so he could look out the window and not think those twinkling things in the sky were other ships, saying hello or some stupid shit. )

And you're walking on a floor. Amazing, isn't it?

They don't sound like any creatures I'm familiar with, but they do sound challenging to defeat. Are they inherently evil or pestilent?
jettisons: (Default)

oh boy this will go great

[personal profile] jettisons 2018-07-28 10:27 pm (UTC)(link)
[Bellamy crosses his arms, expression unimpressed.]

Are you going to tell me anything useful, or are you just going to keep wasting my time? You know exactly what I meant.
retravel: (f046)

thanks pal c:

[personal profile] retravel 2018-07-28 10:27 pm (UTC)(link)
[ his is practiced, if brief. he almost asks just Dutch? but thinks better of it. ]

Three days, as far as I'm aware. [ after he slides the panel shut, he looks up and down the hall, arbitrarily setting off to the left. ] And yourself?
jettisons: (pic#11855262)

[personal profile] jettisons 2018-07-28 10:28 pm (UTC)(link)
[Bellamy turns back to the window again, eyes locked on that strange planet. That response has someone managed to make this more confusing.]

No one is? How the hell did we all get here?
jettisons: (Default)

[personal profile] jettisons 2018-07-28 10:29 pm (UTC)(link)
I want to know if there's anyone on it and if it's habitable.
Thought that was obvious.
jettisons: (pic#11855264)

[personal profile] jettisons 2018-07-28 10:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I woke up a few hours ago. No idea how long I was out.

[But he assumes a long time, if they're suddenly orbiting a totally different planet. He knows that once upon a time there were mining missions with cryopods and everything, but there's no one left to run those ships, so how the hell did this happen?]
morethan084: (well)

[personal profile] morethan084 2018-07-28 10:31 pm (UTC)(link)
That's also a mystery.

[Daisy steps closer to the window as if she expected to see something new when she looked out. She really misses the sun and having natural light.]

We've all shown up with no memory of how we even got here, and people keep coming. There's no set time or anything, they just show up.

[Daisy looks over to him after her explanation, unsure of how he would take the news.]
dominantpower: (Looking so undermined)

[personal profile] dominantpower 2018-07-28 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
that does suck.

[ what else could he say, really? ]

same as everyone else i guess? i definitely didn't choose to be here. maybe we can help each other out?
