"Yeah?" Karen's heard that before. She thinks of Matt and smiles a little, but there's a wince as she reaches out to grab hold of his arm so she can steadily rise up to her feet. She's tall enough that she manages to bump her head on the low ceiling, and it causes her to curse under her breath.

"So, who are you? One of the Avengers?"

It's clearly said as a joke, something sarcastic to make light out of their situation. If she doesn't, she might cry because of how awful she feels right now.
