"Surprisingly, yes." There's a pause as he waits, watching Connor trace the scab. It is methodical, and he doesn't doubt that Connor is focusing on studying the injury rather than meaning anything else -- but from anyone else, it would just be distracting and arguably inappropriate.

And like that, the hand is gone. He thinks little else of it.

"Thus far from what your manual has shown, I think your biocomponents will be easier to understand than some of the technology on this ship," Alucard agrees. "But your confidence in me is an added motivation. I will not let you down, Connor."

That question makes Alucard pause, and his eyes close, as if pained for a moment. "I don't know. Our circumstances are unique and without many answers. If time is moving normally while I-- while we are here, then I most confront that as quickly as possible."
